Thank You for Being Supportive!

A while back we discussed unwanted comments and “suggestions” given to handlers at trials. We (mostly) agreed that Mom was right: “if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all”. Except if someone asks for your thoughts or you are very close friends and then wait until long after they are out of the ring. I’ll ignore those people who get pissed off if you say something complimentary.
But I don’t want to talk about that.
What I want to talk about is how blown away I was by the super nice people at the trial this weekend who came up to me and said such nice things about Snap!, Spark, and how I treat and handle them.😊
I try hard to give my dogs useful feedback when things go right and wrong in the ring. People always laugh at my comments to my dogs while we are running. I might be frustrated inside, but I’ve run enough soft dogs that I know being a jerk to my dogs isn’t going to help the situation. I so love when Mulligan runs are available because then I can work through any problems and tell my dogs how awesome they are and tug like crazy!
I do very much appreciate hearing such nice comments from folks at trials. Thank you for being supportive!
