Mr. Peabody - Tumor Surgery Successful

19 Jan 2005Steve Schwarz

Just got a call from Dr. Mitch Robbins at Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove, IL. He told me that he completed removal of Mr. Peabody’s tumor. The tumor was a little more infiltrative to the surrounding tissue than could be determined by the resolution of the CT scan. But he was able to remove the entire tumor. He had to disect the tumor from the sciatic nerve against which it was pushing - which was causing Mr. Peabody’s symptoms. The tumor will be sent off for a biopsy to determine if subsequent radiation treatment is required.

So Mr. Peabody is resting and I’ll call back later to see if he is well enough to come home tonight. We were all thinking about him since I dropped him off this morning…
