Course for a Discriminating Team! Video

I really like this fast moving course from class last week - it obviously has tunnel/A Frame discriminations but it has more: Serpentines Serpentine Handling TechniquesSerpentine Sequence, fast/tight Off Side weave entries, Back Sides Handling the Quad Back Side - Patrick Bucher Course/VideoThe Connection Between Threadles and Back SidesBack Side/Back Side JumpBack Side of Jump Handling Combinations - Video and Jump Wraps Jump Wrap Handling TipsJump Wrap Handling - With VideoJump Wrap/Wrap. Here’s the diagram (with alternate obstacles for the teeter in green):

If you don’t have this much space I created a Small Space setup from the bottom right of the course and came up with three sequences to work on; I also shot video of Flyer and Petey running the sequences.

In the first Small Space video I show five different ways to handle 1-3.

You can make the weave entrances more or less challenging by rotating the weave poles. The 4-5 entrance was tough for some teams because the dog has a lot of speed coming in to the jump and the distance from the jump to the weaves was short; requiring the dog to land and collect to make the entrance and stay in the weaves.

I didn’t bring Flyer to class so I didn’t try it out before my students. But I liked it so much that I set it up in my backyard and video taped Flyer and I running it. I had my Dog Walk setup so I incorporated it in place of 7-8 and pushed the tunnel into the upper left corner to give a safer approach.

There are a lot of handling options - I hope you try this course yourself!
